BRENHAM Collection No. B240.1 - a 9.8 gram meteorode collected by Nininger during an expedition to the Brenham strewnfield around 1929. A meteorode is a concretionary nodule composed of partially metamorphosed meteoritic material. The term was coined by Nininger 1929 when he recovered a batch of unique and remarkable specimens from wet areas in the Brenham strewnfeild. Nininger's official definition was "a nodule of meteoritic origin, consisting of an outer zone of ferrite enclosing the siliceous constituents of the original meteorite."
