This is some of the most exciting material we have seen come out of NWA. R chondrites are rare, fresh R's are even rarer, but INDIVIDUAL BABY STONES might be once-in-a-lifetime.

WHITECOURT METEORITES ARE BACK! Earlier this past year, we decided to mount one final expedition to the Whitecourt area. Though the area is nearly "picked clean", we managed to grind a full 9 days out there and find some amazing specimens. Please click the link above to see all available specimens.

Circa 1960's Vintage Tektite Presentation

Historic Meteorites recently acquired a batch of vintage tektite presentation boxes. These old boxes would have likely been sold at rock, mineral, and novelty shops back in the early 1960's. There is a tektite from Thailand in each presentation (Siam was the name of Thailand before 1939). These are truly fantastic little presentations with real vintage "MoJo".  Photo is of an example of what you will get - actual tektite shape will vary. ONLY $10 ea.

BENTHULLEN, Germany - 8.3 grams
Found 1948/1951, Niedersachsen, Germany - L6

A very rare German find cut from a piece out of the Hamburg Museum. Ex. Dr. Jay Piatek Collection. A single 17kg, well preserved stone was discovered in a peat bog. Benthullen is poorly distributed in both museums and institutional collections. This is the largest specimen we have ever seen offered.

CANYONLANDS, Utah - 73.4 grams
Found 1961, Canyonlands Nat. Park, Utah - Brecciated H6

A stunning part end of this rare Utah find. Specimen shows beautiful brecciation and has deep regmaglypts. Originally from the Dr. James Schwade collection with his painted number "131". This might be the first time Canyonlands has ever been offered for public sale.

Only a single 1520 gram stone was found in Canyonlands National Park. Nearly half of the meteorite is held at NHM, Vienna.

CHILKOOT, Alaska - 246.8 grams
Found 1881, Portage Bay, Alaska - Iron, IIIAB

Alaska's first meteorite and one of only four for the entire state. To our knowledge, this rare locality has only been offered in the past as small micros. Originally from the Dr. James Schwade collection and one of the meteorites photographed in his wonderful collection catalog. Has painted Schwade numbers on back.

This specimen is a robust  nearly-complete slice, with a small section removed by a past custodian. The natural edge is fantastic and shows the deep regmaglypts the meteorite must have had.

$4600

GUNLOCK, Utah - 77.8 grams
Found 1982, Washington Co., Utah - L3 Chondrite

A nice robust part slice with crusted edge. From the legendary Robert Haag collection including his signed specimen card. Gunlock is another poorly distributed meteorite. The main-mass was recently repatriated to the state at the Utah Geological Survey.
$1950

NENNTMANNSDORF - Ex. TCU/Monnig - 27.9 grams
Sachsen, Germany , Found 1872 - Iron, IIAB

A rare 19th Century German iron from the legendary TCU/Monnig collection. Includes original label and taped on the back of the specimen is a TCU label hand-written by Arthur Ehlmann.

This is the largest piece we have ever seen offered. As seen in the photos, the specimen has some oxidation on the surface and we have priced it accordingly.  One might consider having the face refinished and etched.

$2650

YBBSITZ, Austria - 79.5 grams
Nieder Osterreich, Austria - H4 Chondrite

Another extremely rare locality! One of only two Austrian meteorites and the only known find from the country. Nearly the entire stone is housed at NHM, Vienna, making it very difficult  to acquire.   Ex. Dr. James Schwade Collection.
$5550

VULCAN, Canada - 66.5 grams
Alberta, Canada, Found 1962 - H6 Chondrite

From the Rob Elliott Collection - You'll be hard pressed to find a finer piece of Vulcan. In fact, we believe this might be the largest piece ever offered for sale. A fantastic thick part-slice with a nice crusted edge. Rare!
